I received an email asking who is able to join the Outreach discussion board. This discussion board is open to all Teachers of the Deaf, all Oral/Visual Language Interpreters, Special Education Assistants, families, other professionals and anyone who is interested in the Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

As a parent, can I request the services of the provincial outreach program at my school? Can you explain the process.

Thank you for your question. The Provincial Outreach Program, upon request from School Districts, Independent Schools, and First Nations programs provides educational consultation, programming and support for students who are Deaf and hard of hearing throughout the Province of British Columbia. In order to initiate Provincial Outreach support the referring School District must make a formal request to the Director of Instruction for the Provincial Outreach Program. Her name is Marguerite Henderson, and her email is marguerite.henderson@sd41.bc.ca
